Crescendo v1.4 Stops Working In Low Volume Periods.

Salve,

many of you experienced performance problems in December-January. Those of you having those kind of problems didn’t follow my suggestion to pause trading live from mid December to mid January. At least on live accounts. At least using the regular lot size.

Anyway… Crescendo v1.4 has a nice feature that will automatically stop it from opening new sets of positions in August and from mid December to mid January. This way you can’t go wrong. It is an option, so you can DISABLE it but you’ll do it knowing what you can face.

If the EA will have open positions it’ll continue to manage them as usual. It will simply stop from opening NEW (first) positions.

Safety first! :)

Updates!

Salve a tutti,

sorry if I disappeared a little during the last few days but here’s a quick update on what I’m doing and you should expect this week and next one:

  • Crescendo v1.4 – The coding is almost done and I’m doing backtests so to find best settings. After that I’ll send it to about 10 beta-testers that wish to try it. I already have a list of people wishing to do that. One or two weeks of beta testing and it’ll be public so probably around mid February. I’m about to post the backtests this week so you know what you can expect from it;
  • How To Hedge Trading With Crescendo - this is a guide I’m working on that will explain in details how to hedge trading with Crescendo. Some of you are already doing that but I think that this guide will help everyone doing that at best. It can be a very profitable strategy, but requires an account allowing hedging (so buy and sell on the same account)… or two accounts. So not for everyone but worth showing how it works;
  • Forex Growth Bot “pimped” version – There have been two updates of the “original” version in the meanwhile, thanks to your feedbacks that should have solved most (if not all) the “technical” problems with it (mainly the loosing control of trades issue). I waited for them to be out as I use the original code as a base and then add my “pimping”. The directions I’m taking actually are focused on “filtering”. I’m adding a simple time filter (time of the day for trading), probably adding some indicator filtering and most important my first experiment to implement Equity Curve Trading. I already have the libraries to add “virtual” trading so that when the equity is not “good” I can pause the EA from trading live and resume it when virtual trading shows a recovering equity curve;
  • Leaderboard of commercial EAs – I’m about to start a set of demo account to test the EAs I’m working on actually so that we can create a leaderboard of commercial EAs and compare performances. We’ll use Gallant VPS platform so that you can see in real time the EA trading (like that: http://www.gallantvps.com/demo.php) and have all the statistics you need to evaluate them;
  • More EAs reviews – I’m about to write a review of a few more EAs that are performing well on my tests. I listed all of them in my previous post but now some are ready for the review;
  • More Indicators – I’ll add more indicators soon and I promise that I’ll soon add links for buying the commercial ones. It takes a little to build the pages that then ClickBank have to approve before giving me the “permission” to sell them… it’s not easy as it could seem :D
  • Members Only Area – Working on an are with exclusive contents and the much requested forum :)

That’s all :D

Probably I’m missing something and that’s only what I can tell you.
In reality I’m also working on a couple of new EAs that I hope to release in the next few months as they are working very very well.

So stay tuned and grazie!

Road To Version 1.4

Salve a tutti,

I want to keep you updated on the steps I’m taking in Crescendo version 1.4 development.

Filtering:

  • adding option to filter first entries based on OB/OS conditions
  • adding option to filter additional entries based on trend score
  • option to set the maximum number of orders per bar and in total

New features:

  • adding target profit and lot sizes also based on a percentage of the balance (compounding)
  • adding options for trailing profits (so you won’t use the target profit but the trades will run until a certain percent of retracement from the last equity peak is touched)
  • option for order step based on average daily range (the order step will adapt to the market voaltily)
  • the trend algorithm will be fully customizable for each of the 5 timeframes so that you can choose the timeframe and the period of each of them. By default it won’t be multi timeframe anymore but will work on the same timeframe (1H) but with multiperiod (each of the 5 hullMAs will be based on an increasing number of periods)

I’ll also add a simple “Version 1.2 compatibility mode” so that the settings will be automatically adjusted to those running on the live account.

I’m working to have it ready soon but it takes time to test and backtest all the options. It’ll also take time to find the right balance.

I’ll also choose 10 Crescendinos as beta tester of it so that when it’ll be official it’ll have been tested for at least a week or two.

Semi-Automatic Approach To Crescendo’s Trading by Alessandro (RED BULL)

Salve a tutti,
a few days ago I had a Skype chat with Alessandro (aka RED BULL) about a few things. And he also explained how he trades Crescendo. I asked him if I can publish his way of trading it because is the perfect example of the “semi-automatic” approach to Crescendo trading.

Crescendo’s Live Chat

Salve a tutti,

like for PimpMyEA.com blog, I decide to add to a Live Chat feature for Crescendo’s blog as well.

If you look at the bottom right of the webpage you can now see a small bar with a bold “chat” written in it.

If you click there a chat window will open.

This is the new live chat room. You can chat as a guest or register (that’s better).

You can chat in the general tab, or one by one with another guest of the chat room simply by selecting him/her from the list on the right.

It’s just an experiment and if it’ll create problems I’ll delete it immediately. It’s there to talk about (mainly) automatic trading.

A few very important rules:

  • rule n.1 is RESPECT, for everyone and everything. That means no bad words, no offence to anyone for any reason.
  • rule n.2 is NO TRADE SUGGESTION. Entry levels, exits, forecasts about what a certain pair will do or go and similar things are not allowed here. And if that happens and you follow them and you loose money it’s your fault. You can’t blame anyone. In any case, avoid as hell to do any kind of forecasting.
  • rule n.3 try to keep the discussion about AUTOMATIC TRADING in the general chat. If you want to discuss about personal things you can do a one-by-one chat.
  • rule n.4 is RESPECT again :D

I can’t be online 24 hours a day, and can’t moderate it 24 hours a day, so I strongly rely on your intelligence about how the chat goes.

If it happens something that you feel goes against the above rules, please report it to me so that I can be aware of that and take counter-measures.

Again… this is just an experiment and I do that because I feel that this is becoming more and more a community, and I feel your desire of communicating each other and with me in real time.

I hope you like the idea and you’ll use it well (please!).

PimpMyEA.com New Project!

As I wrote a few days ago, I decided to start a new blog. In reality it a new project. With the launch of the Leo Trader Pro, a lot of comments about it have been posted in Crescendo’s blog. Many are asking for support, sharing opinions, ideas, tweaks, etc. That is a great thing, but I’d like to keep Crescendo’s blog mainly related to Crescendo. For that reason, I decided to start a new blog about automatic trading in general, and specifically about automatic trading with MT4.

I already had in mind to start a project like that, but I was planning to do it later this year. Your interest in automatic trading made me decide that now is the time to start this thing and I dedicated the last days to set up the first part of this project.

This project is named PimpMyEA.com

As you can easily guess by the name, the main idea behind the project is to help you use your EAs at best. The website will contain a lot of information like review, statistics, demo and live account performances, backtest performances, as well as tweaked settings to make your EAs (commercial and not) work at best.

The first phase is the blog. There, you’ll already find reviews of the EAs I like and suggest you to use to build your portfolio of EAs as well as a list of the indicators that I developed in this years. Some of them are already freely downloadable.

PimpMyEA.com is not a simple spin-off of the Crescendo’s blog, but it’s a totally new project that will evolve fast. Read the first post here: http://www.pimpmyea.com to have a more in depth idea of what’s about to come in the next days, weeks and months.

As usual, you can feely comment everywhere as I am hoping that you’ll continue to follow me as you’re doing on the Crescendo’s blog. All my posts about things not related to Crescendo will be posted in PimpMyEa.com from now on. So, I wait for you to join me there as well.

In that direction also goes my friend Rob Casey. We spoke about that in the past weeks and he told me that he was working on something. Today, he’ll hold a webinar about how to recognize Forex scams. This will be a 3-step training that I’m sure will help you.

If you’re interested on that free training you can click on the link below and sign in the page:
http://www.pimpmyea.com/rob_casey.html

I’ll be there for sure as Rob has got a lot of experience in that, and I’m sure there’ll be something interesting to learn.

After having said that, I will wait on you at www.pimpmyea.com!
