HOW TO – Make Crescendo Work With Dukascopy
Salve a tutti,
in the past I’ve been asked if it’s is my intention to port Crescendo to other platforms. The answer is Yes.
The platforms I’m thinking about are FXCM’s Strategy Tester, Dukascopy’s JForex and naturally MetaTrader 5.
It’ll take a little time so probably the ported versions will see the light only in the first months of next year. Fortunately I got a few friends that are experts on those platforms that will help me in that so the process should be faster that having to learn in depth them all. But as I know myself I know that I won’t say that a new platform version can be released until I’ll have 100% the control and understanding of it 
Anyway… for those of you using JForex (Dukascopy’s platform) there’s a short way to do that while you wait for me to port to it: the MT4/JForex Clients Bridge.
What you have to do is install a software that bridges MT4 with Crescendo installed to the JForex platform. So every trade sent on the MT4 platform is then replicated into the JForex one. I tested myself and it works very well once you’ve done the initial setup. Also performances can be even better considering that spread are lower on Dukascopy than on the average MT4 broker.
The setup process is not very easy, but very well documented. Here’s a list of resources to refer to learn the whole process.

This can be a solution with those of you that want to run it on their Dukascopy account while waiting to have a JForex “native” version of it.
I have to thanks Paolo for giving me such informations and helping me with JForex. An also Jean-Marc for a lot of things and FXCM Strategy Tester stuff. MQL5 I have to learn myself 
I personnaly use this solution since more than a month now, MT4JForexBridge works very well with Crescendo but I had some little bug with other EAs, so my advise, as usual, test it in demo with the EA you want to use in Live before going live, don’t think it will work for all EAs the same way.
If you have some desynchronization problems :
- stop the MT4JForexBridge strategy
- close all your orders in Dukascopy whenever possible
- delete the bridge files created under MT4\Logs
- restart MT4JForexBridge in JForex

I did some backtest but with default settings is not positive.
About the advantage of using Strategy Tester instead of MT4 is that MT4 on FXCM is a bridged solution that sometimes doesn’t work well. Much better to use “native” ones.
Just want to add that Strategy tester enable you to test strategies with multiple pair (like Crescendo), that it is impossible to do with MT4

I wonder Why don’t you change the Lot size in your Live account. The equity is above 20000 GBP . Lot size should be at least 0.20 after all it is live account with real money. Staying with the same lot size hearts the real performance of crescendo.It should show more gain than what it is showing now.

in reality Crescendo for JForex already exists
I’ll speak with Paolo and we’ll decide if and how to release it. Almost everything we do is made for (now) 3 platforms: MT4 (by me and Paolo), JForex (by Paolo), Multicharts/Tradestation (by me).

In reality now I develop first in MC and then port in MT4.
But Crescendo has been created well before I started working with MC so I have to port it to PowerLanguage. Shouldn’t take long but probably I’ll port next version… Version 2.0 Ultimate.
