Japan And Yen

Salve a tutti,

first of all I’d like to tell to all the Japanese people part of this community that my hearth is with you all and knowing you a little I’m sure that you’ll be able to recover from this disaster thanks to your incredible strength and dignity.

I’ll try to do all we can to help you in that. You can always count on me. And I’m sure that this is feeling is shared between all of us.

Second… the Yen is actually in a very volatile situation and I think it’ll be so for a quite long period. I suggest then to stop trading EAs on Yen based pairs (Crescendo included) or trade it with very low lot size.

Yesterday we’ve seen a drop of more than 500 pips in a very short time on GBPJPY (even more on USDJPY) and about 1000 in two days. Most of the loss now it’s recovered but things like that may badly hurt EAs performances.

For Crescendo I’m thinking about substituting the GBPJPY pair with a new one. In the next days I’ll give you more information on that.

Said that, please if you have any idea about that please share it with the whole community. I think it’s important to talk to understand the direction to take, both in trading and in trying to find a way to help Japanese people recover from that disaster.

Japan is strong and will recover for sure. World will help them as well.

Back to Crescendo, I think we have new draw down for Crescendo v1.2 after yesterday – my Crescendo was on LONG on GBP/JPY and hit Close_on_counter trade feature reulting 33% draw down :(
Of course today I stopped trading on GBP/JPY till its stable again, I hope I will recover from this.

    • I should have written that alert before as I was almost sure that something like that was about to come, but you know it’s always difficult to take a decision when thousands people are involved in it.

Luckily, I stopped trading GJ pair on Crescendo 3 weeks ago, Andrea I asked you back then if you could substitute GJ with another pair like UsdChf or UsdCad or whatever you recommend. I’m hoping this can be done with V1.4, not only on “Unlimited”? I don’t think Crescendo V1.4 would be very useful if GJ is one of the pairs with GU, IMO.

    thanks !
    Greg

    • That’s what I’m trying to do ;)

    Hi Andrea…
I am using Cres from your 1st realse and when u released V1.2 ..From that time I suggested you change G/J pair with some other pair this pair do not suit with cres and today I am happy to read that,You made ur mind to remove G/J from Cres…As compare Cres with other EA’s I found its strategy is good..even though its give us low profit but we can hold it..I hope with V1.4 u will change G/J and add some other pair and make V1.4 best one as compare to other EA..To be frank..I trust more at Cres as compare to other EA’s..my suggestion is AU/US..I think its a good pair..what you think? Here are very good peoples and I hope they will suggest you any good pair to replace G/J…

    • AUDUSD and USDCHF are good candidates.
      Let’s see :)

IMO, I agree with UsdChf, but like UsdCad over AudUsd ?

        any comments welcome ..

thanks again Andrea for your knowledge and dedication to this project.

My fault for not removing GBJY earlier. Just reakised I suffered the dreaded 30% drawdown and sofar, more losses!. I closed out all GPJY positions and removed crescendo from this pair.

Let’s see how fast the recovery of the account will take, on reduced capital and on only one pair, GBPUSS.
